NAC was unable to score visiting Fortuna-Sittard on Saturday evening. The match ended in 1-0. Nevertheless, the Bredanaries are assured of certainly another season in the Eredivisie, because arch -rival Willem II lost at home against Heracles Almelo on Friday.
It took a long time before the game started. After half an hour of play there was the first real chance for Sittard, but NAC goalkeeper Daniel Bielica kept the ball out of the net. Just like in the earlier matches, NAC played strongly in the defense with five men, but that didn’t help, because after 30 minutes the 1-0 fell. Fortuna player Sierhuis shot the ball nicely in after some fumbling from the Bredanaren.

NAC showed itself a bit more in the second half and seemed to be the same at the end of the game a few times. Leo Sauer even tapped the ball in, but the VAR decided that this had happened with his hand. The goal was therefore rejected.
For NAC, the loss does not mean that much. They were already safe three games before the end of the competition. Because of the victory, Fortuna can still win the play-offs for European football.
