Around 1.30 pm, players and staff sailed into the port of Volendam by boat, where thousands of orange -dressed supporters are probably waiting for them with fireworks and cheers.
Back and forth 11
After the boat is moored, the players walk towards the back and forth 11. That is a botter on a flat cart on which the players are always honored in a promotion to the Eredivisie. The number is adjusted every time.
This season it is the eleventh time that FC Volendam promotes. The club is therefore a record holder in professional football. In 2022, the last time the club was the promotion. Then the back and forth 10 went through Volendam.
