To manage sex appointments with teenagers and a rape, a three-year-old prison sentence and TBS with compulsory nursing was required against a 40-year-old man from the municipality of Westerwolde.
The man had long -length sex chat interviews with four boys aged 14 and 15 years old. He led to sex appointments (Grooming). The man is accused of raping one of the boys. The man has been detained since 6 September. He strongly denies all accusations.
The reason for this arrest was a confession of the 15-year-old boy to his leader of accompanied living in Roden, that he had sexual contact with an older man. He got cigarettes for this and sometimes alcohol, the boy said. The mentor went to the boy’s parents. The suspect was heard and searched his phone. It contained sex conversations with more teenagers.
These guys were traced. All vulnerable young people, the public prosecutor said, who craved attention and friendship. Two boys were unable to explain about the events. According to their mother, they were mentally too upset. According to the prosecutor, the suspect had a fixed method. He would have been sophisticated.
The boys had online contact with a 17-year-old Robin. The police investigation strongly shows that Robin and the suspect are one and the same person. Nothing shows that this 17-year-old Robin consists of Assen. For example, it is striking that the Snapchat account of ‘Robin’ is linked to the email of the suspect. This fictional Robin built up a relationship of trust with the boys.
This even went so far that nude photos were sent back and forth. In the end ‘Robin’ pointed the boys to the suspect. As the owner of a catering company, he always needed helping hands. This came to several agreements between the suspect and the teenagers. According to experts, the man is struggling with a personality disorder and a sexual deviation. He has never been treated, but desperately needs the advice.
Because the suspect denies and does not show any sense of disease, the probation service sees nothing in TBS with conditions (without forced nursing). The public prosecutor agrees. Moreover, the suspect was previously in the picture for looking for sexual contact with young people, but was not prosecuted for this. “He is a warned man,” said the prosecutor. Because of the TBS measure, she proposed a lower prison sentence.
The suspect’s lawyer asked the judge to take into account that the man has not been treated before. According to her, a TBS with compulsory nursing is too coarse guns. She argued for TBS with conditions.
The court makes a decision on 23 May.
