The almost two -year guest performance by Tomas Cvancara near Borussia Mönchengladbach is becoming an increasing misunderstanding. After a failed departure in winter, the 24 -year -old striker hopes to change a change in summer. His open dissatisfaction paired with below -average performance over the past few months is said to have ensured that the team council spoke out for coach Gerardo Seoane not to bring Cvancara in the starting eleven on matchday 31 against Holstein Kiel (3: 4). But this was denied to him. “Instead, promises were made that were not fulfilled,” said Cvancara. The attacker did not say what promised.

The next day, Cvancara had to compete with sports director Roland Virkus. “It was a good and important conversation. Tomas sees that he made a mistake with the Instagram post. But I also understand that he is dissatisfied, that shows his ambition. The topic is done,” said the 58-year-old at a press conference and also confirmed parts of Cvancara’s explanations.
“There were actually conversations about a loan in winter. But we should have found a good replacement, especially since Franck Honorat failed for a long time. That did not come about – Tomas will surely have hoped for more playing time than he actually received,” Virkus continued. The future after the season is open. “Even then we will try again to find the best solution for us and for Tomas.” Gladbach coach Seoane at least “understood that he is not satisfied”, but the club was not. “He has a higher potential and we didn’t manage to call it up. But the path has not yet ended.”
Seoane was not pleased with the whole discussion. “What is decided internally is communicated internally and also dealt with accordingly,” said the Swiss, who underlined that he cannot be talked into his job. “Every coach in this world has the responsibility to decide who is playing,” said Seoane. There could be an exchange with the team, “but the decision about constellations and exchanges and substitutions makes the trainer.” Cvancara will be back in the squad again on Saturday (6:30 p.m.) in the game at FC Bayern.
