Ex-professional again seriously ill-clubs start aid campaign

Tom Weilandt had already fought for a serious illness last year. Now this is back-and the supporters of his ex-clubs should help.
Moving VfL Bochum and Hansa Rostock: The Bundesliga club and the third division team will start a typing campaign for his former player Tom on Saturday. Because the 33-year-old has a second time in leukemia and needs a stem cell donation. Now his former clubs are committed to him – and call up their fans to help.
At the Bundesliga club Bochum, the campaign will take place on Saturday around the game against FSV Mainz 05 (kick -off 3:30 p.m.). Rostock plans the measure as part of the third division game against Energie Cottbus (kick -off 2 p.m.).
Weilandt had fought blood cancer last year. Now the disease has returned. The former midfielder was trained at VfL Bochum and Hansa Rostock, among others, and is the son of long-time Hansa professional Hilmar Weilandt.
