Thomas van Groningen has returned to today Inside and that is why the talk show of Sven Kockelmann had to look for a new political reporter. The young Mats Akkerman, from BNR Nieuwsradio, was finally chosen. He now gets fierce criticism for the first time, because according to media aritor Victor Vlam, that kid misses the shelf.

Backstreet Mats

Although it is quite a juicy boy to see, Victor believes, but he has to look for a stylist. There are two problems with his styling that I don’t find ideal and complete and totally project the wrong image. His styling is a painful succession of wrong decisions. “

The worst? “His hairstyle,” he says in the podcast The Communicado’s. “That is the same hairstyle as Backstreet Boy Nick Carter in the 90s. That is the same hairstyle. A divorce in the middle, long hair that falls to both sides. Then I think to myself: you are not in a boy band and this is not the 90s.”

Shorter hair

Mats really can’t sit at the table, says Victor. “You are a seriously politically clear and then you need a hairstyle, which also emphasizes that seriousness. My advice would be: slightly shorter hair and the separation on the side.”

“The second point is that his clothing is too informal. Sven Kockelmann is very formally dressed, he is in full ornate in his suit, and then Mats is there in very informal clothing. He was wearing a white T-shirt last Friday with a kind of pink-purple shirt over it. Then I think that a lot of student-likeness radiates.”

Trainee

Victor therefore suggests that Mats goes to the hairdresser and to the Zara. “Because he also looks young, his clothing emphasizes that the very young image. That makes him more the trainee who can sit down at the table with the big Sven Kockelmann than it makes him a seriously politically clear.”

“If I were him, I would make other stylistic choices on these two points. I think it is necessary to get out of the program well,” he concludes.
