Petri Karjalainen moves to the helm of the Oulu Kärppie under a two -year contract.

Oulu Kärpät announced on Thursday that they had made a two -year contract Petri Karjalainen with which he will become the club’s new head coach.

Karjalainen, 44, moves to Oulu from KalPa’s helm, where the head coach won the Finnish Championship in the past season. In Kuopio, Karjalainen worked for a total of four seasons.

Karelian tells the Flyers in the press release take their new work on the hungry.

– Flyers are historically successful club. Let’s take the things that can be proud of and aim to build a continuity for them. The club is very significant to me, and it is great to be able to influence the future and build success with my own contribution.

According to IL information, Karelian was originally supposed to become a sports director of the Flyers, but during the season, the wash became head coach.

The Flyers ranked 13th in the SM League in the end of the season and thus left completely out of the playoffs.
