The Metzingen fashion group Hugo Boss AG has launched a recycled polyester yarn called Novapoly together with the delivery companies Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC.
The German fashion group considers trademark rights to Novapoly and an exclusive use for the first year for the Boss and Hugo brands. In the future, however, it is planned to provide the yarn of the fashion industry in license.
Novapoly is made from textile waste that arise during clothing production and after use by consumers: inside. “It includes a natural additive that imitates the natural behavior of fibers in the environment and makes it degradable,” says a press release.
Hugo Boss wants to fight microplastics and develop alternatives to polyester and polyamide fibers.
The first boss green products with Novapoly are to be available in Boss branches and selected wholesale partners from October this year: on the inside worldwide. As part of the spring/summer collection 2026, the yarn will also be integrated into selected Boss Green Performance Wear products.
