Maradona – Sogno Benedetto: the review by Aldo Grasso

The mythical “pibe de oro” in the series on his human parable, “Maradona – Blessed dream”

M.ARADONA – BLESSED DREAM
Gender: Biographical
Directed by Alejandro Aimetta, Edoardo De Angelis. With Juan Palomino, Nazareno Casero. On Amazon Prime Video

“I want to make sure it’s from this planet.” Diego Armando Maradona’s “Martian” provenance has been said and written in various spaces and occasions; not far behind new biographical series in ten episodes, which reactivates this refrain right from the start. This is the answer that a talent scout gives to a colleague after seeing a nine-year-old boy from Villa Fiorito play.

Diego Armando Maradona, the women who marked his life

The Argentine series directed by Alejandro Aimetta paints the life of the greatest and most controversial footballer of all time.

The story is played by mixing temporal plans between the child Diego and the difficult childhood in the poor suburbs of Buenos Aires, the acclaimed champion Maradona and the man on the avenue of the decline of addiction. The opening takes you back to the dramatic days of Punta del Este, in Uruguay, a year ago, when rumors of yet another fatal relapse began to circulate.

Juan Palomino lends his face and suffering to Maradona, now tried in recent times, while Nazareno Casero interprets him in his youth of the ascent and of the first loves. An ambitious operation that combines the scripted and fictional dimension with the rigor of historical reconstruction and the extensive use of archival materials and repertoire.
For those who love great sports biographies and the ambiguous stories of fragile heroes.
