The Dallas Cowboys are apparently just before a trade for Wide Receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL.
As several media reported on Wednesday, the cowboys and Steelers are apparently working on the finalization of an exchange business that will send picke to Texas. In return, several draft picks could go to Pittsburgh.
As Adam Schefter also reported “ESPN”, the expectation that this deal will take place on Wednesday.
Pickens was a second -round pick of the Steelers in Draft 2022 and could therefore receive a new contract for the first time in this offseason. He will now request this from the cowboys. His agent David Mulugheta is already in tough negotiations on a new contract for Star-Edge-Rusher Micah Parsons.
However, Pickens had not only noticed in the league in his previous time, but also because he sometimes did not show any particularly professional attitude. Also last season he was often seen on the pitch listlessly if he was not the primary receiver in a move.
Steeler’s potential for conflict
With a view of the coming season, it had therefore been speculated for a long time about a possible trade trade in the receiver, since with DK MetCalf – via Trade with the Seattle Seahawks – a new top receiver had been brought into the Steel City anyway, which will certainly receive most of the Targets in the game of the Steelers. That alone could have caused a new displeasure.
In the cowboys, picens would fill an important position, because except for top receiver Ceedee Lamb, the Receiving Corps of the Texans was quite broke with a few established further stations for quarterback DAK Prescott.
Pickens has so far had 174 receptions for 2841 yards and 12 touchdowns in 48 games in three years. Last season, in which he missed three games in his career for the first time due to injury, there were still 900 yards and 3 touchdowns.
