In parts of Bruges and also in Jabbeke and Damme, the waste remained on Tuesday morning, due to a strike by IVBO waste racers, the waste intermunicipal company for Bruges and the surrounding area. The waste collectors spontaneously put down the work because they are concerned about their holiday pay and no longer have faith in personnel policy. Their wages are also no longer paid in advance and that has an impact on their taxes. As a result, some employees would have to pay up to 1,500 euros extra.
Yesterday morning, management and trade unions were gathered. A simulation has been made of the holiday pay of some employees and it shows that their holiday pay will not fall. The waste reasons reassure that, say the unions.
