After only six races, trust in Jack Doohan is already exhausted. The Australian therefore loses its place in the cockpit.

The season is still young, but the patience at Alpine with Jack Doohan is already at the end. As the racing team announced on Wednesday, the Australian has to go to the replacement bank for the time being: “Throughout and through a real professional – thank you very much for your hard work and your commitment in the car, Jack,” wrote the team on the X.

The 22-year-old son of Australian motorcycle legend Mick Doohan is one of four still pointless drivers this season. He was also involved in some accidents. Before this season, Doohan also prevailed against Mick Schumacher in the fight for a regular cockpit among the French. Now he will release it for the time being.

Franco Colapinto will sit in the car at the Grand Prix in Imola on May 18. “Franco Colapinto will take the step to the racing driver for the next five races,” Alpine continued. The 21-year-old was used for Williams in the second half of last season. He even got five points, but then didn’t get a cockpit.
