All the organizations involved prepare at the top. Police

The police work from light to increasingly strict safety measures in rings. The closer to the World Forum, where the top takes place, the more strictly protected, with people, resources and technology. The police work closely with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and Defense.
Basic police care remains available during the NATO summit. The police stations are open. The incidents handling, the operational management of the police and the red -handed detection will continue as much as possible as always. If there is a calamity elsewhere in the country, national readiness is organized for this. This police reserve is central to the country to be used.
Royal Netherlands Marechaussee
Most delegations arrive at Schiphol airport. The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) is primarily responsible for public order and safety here and takes a wide range of security measures to guarantee the safety of the delegations and the airport. Assistance players are responsible for enforcing public order.
In addition to the regular deployment, the KMar has planned another 9000 extra services, also outside of Schiphol, including specialists in the field of document control, investigation and intelligence employees, motorcyclists, security, observation and arrest teams and explosives scouts. The KMar also makes a major contribution to personal security and works intensively with the police and the Ministry of Defense.
Ministry of Defense
Defense supports the police and the Marechaussee and makes an important contribution to securing the top. Under the name Operation Orange Shield, Defense uses around 5,000 soldiers, reservists and other defense staff. This support takes place on land, in the air and at sea, including air defense systems, F-35s and frigates.
In addition, Defense provides specific expertise and capacities in the field of cyber, logistics, security and national security. The Ministry of Defense also contributes, among other things, the Explosives Clearance Service (on Land and Maritime), Explosives Track Dogs, Cyber Security Specialists and Intelligence Capacity.
Municipality of The Hague
Safety measures are only taken if they are really needed. Social and economic traffic should continue as much as possible. The municipality of The Hague looks where customization is needed and possible. This in consultation with the security services and also with residents, entrepreneurs, schools, healthcare institutions and other stakeholders.
Demonstrating remains possible during the top. As an international city of Peace and Law, the municipality of The Hague attaches extra things to this.
