The Baltimore Ravens separate from Justin Tucker. It is one of the best kickers in the NFL, but is also exposed to sexual allegations.
The Baltimore Ravens separate from their football professional Justin Tucker after 13 years. The kicker – one of the best in the league – will be released, the NFL team said on Monday (local time). “Sometimes football decisions are very difficult, and this is one of these cases,” said General Manager Eric de Costa. “With a view to our squad, we made the difficult decision to release Justin Tucker.” The Ravens had secured the rights to Tyler Loop at the end of April and have already had a designated successor in the squad.
Tucker was accused in January that he had sexually inappropriately inappropriate to massage service providers. In their communication, the Ravens did not refer to the investigation and justified the separation of Tucker solely with “football decisions”.
Six women commented on alleged incidents in a local newspaper at the beginning of the year between 2012 and 2016. The lawyers of the now 35-year-old rejected the accusations, Tucker himself expressed detailed on social media and described the allegations as “clearly wrong”.
Tucker was chosen five times in the NFL all-project team in his career and, with 66 yards, keeps the record for the Field Goal from the greatest distance. His quota of 89.1 percent at Field Goals is the best in the history of the league for kickers with at least 100 attempts. Last season, however, Tucker’s achievements declined, he missed eight field goals and thus more than ever.
