A major police pursuit on the A2, N2 and A67 ended on Sunday afternoon around half past two in the arrest of a 44-year-old man from Germany on the Laan Ten Boomen in Lierop. The man ignored a stop sign and ran off at high speed.
Agents wanted to check the car with German license plate on the A2. The man got a stop sign, but ignored this and fled by car.
Several police cars, including the National Unit, chased the car over the A2, N2 and A67. The car could be held standing on the Laan Ten Boomen in Lierop. According to witnesses, there were certainly ten police cars in the street.
Closed car
The car in which the man drove turned out to be stolen in Germany. The police arrested the 44-year-old German. Further research is being done into the theft.
