Bremen continues to take a look at European Cup. In Berlin, however, the Werderans played a clear lead. It became wild with pursuer Gladbach.

SV Werder Bremen missed the leap to a European Cup place in the Bundesliga. On matchday 32, the North German 2: 2 (2: 1) played at 1. FC Union Berlin. Jens Stage scored both Werder goals (2nd and 15th minute). Tom Rothe (37th) and László Bénes (84th) met for Union. With 47 points, Bremen continues to rank in eighth place in the table.

Borussia Mönchengladbach follows two points behind. The “foals” won a 4: 4 (2: 1) against cellar child TSG Hoffenheim. The dream of playing on an international parquet in the coming season remains alive. In front of 52,382 spectators, Fabio Chiarodia (5th), Rocco Reitz (32nd), Franck Honorat (64th) and Tim Kleindienst (90.+1) scored the goals for the hosts. For Hoffenheim, Arthur Chaves (43.), Marius Bülter (54.), Adam Hložek (74.) met. and Haris Tabaković (81st).

Werder used the free space granted at the beginning and penetrated the penalty area with the first offensive action. The end of Marvin Ducksch landed on the post, the rebound Stage dusted off from a short distance. Bremen radiated great calm and clarity with the lead in the back, stood defensively and remained dangerous thanks to the fast switching game. The focus was always on stage, which was able to take undisturbed in his remarkable second goal from around 20 meters.

Union lacked the stability of the past few weeks. The Köpenickers could be covered too easily with simple means and fell several times into dangerous situations. At the end of the Oliver Burke (28th), which was allegedly strong, Frederik Rönnow had to stretch.

Union himself did not come to dangerous actions for a long time, but then the connection goal fell out of nowhere. The defender headed a cross from captain Christopher Trimmel into the goal. The goal gave Union Aufwind. Berlin suddenly pushed for equalization until the break. After the change of sides, a game developed at eye level, in which both teams pushed to goals. Mitchell Weiser (51.) Malapped for Bremen from a promising position, Benedict Hollerbach (54th) and Andrej Ilić (69.) failed from a short distance. In the final phase, Bénes then scored worth seeing to 2-2.

After a good five minutes, the 19-year-old Chiarodia appeared his big appearance when he scored the 1-0 lead with a header after a corner of Honorat. In the 18th minute, Honorat was unlucky with a goal that was not evaluated due to alleged offside position.

The 2-0 of the Gladbacher was preceded by an attack on the right side with Honorat. Robin Hack could not use his cross, but Reitz took a heart, dribbled three opponents and scored the second goal for his team. Hoffenheim had little to offer until then. The best chance still had Hložek (13th), whose shot Borussia’s goalkeeper Jonas Omlin could parry. Shortly before the break, Gladbach’s goalkeeper was still outwitted after a corner kick. Chaves scored 1-2 from a short distance.

The connection goal visibly gave the guests a boost. After an attack on Andrej Kramarić, Bülter came to the ball in a half -left position and surprised Omlin to equalize with a shot in the long corner. But the strong fee took his chance to 3: 2 after an attack on small service to 3: 2. Hložek with a dream goal in the right corner of the goal and Tabaković with a header Hoffenheim brought the 4-3 lead, but small service saved his team in a turbulent game.
