The “tz” reported on Friday that FC Bayern players would plan a master trip to Ibiza. Now Max Eberl commented.
If FC Bayern will be champions in Leipzig on Saturday, there is no journey of the player to Ibiza. This was confirmed by sports director Max Eberl on Saturday before the Bundesliga game at the Saxons on the Sky microphone. “We heard about it, discussed with the team yesterday and said: that doesn’t belong. The team understood that. Therefore: no journey.”
The “tz” and the “picture” had reported on Friday that the team wanted to fly to Ibiza by private jet on Sunday if they become masters. Eberl: “Even if we are masters, there are other clubs that are still fighting.”
The players apparently showed understanding for the decision of the association. “It was not a big issue for the players. It is okay that the idea came. That we talked about it, even better,” added Eberl.
A trip from the player to Ibiza had triggered anger. Three years ago, the team traveled to the Spanish island after a fixed championship. The subsequent game in Mainz lost her 1: 3, which was not well received by the competition.
Hertha coach Felix Magath at the time said: “FC Bayern is already a champion, but I don’t know why a team already stops playing three weeks before the end of the season. That doesn’t serve the Bundesliga.”
Julian Nagelsmann, at the time Bayern coach, was also not enthusiastic and surprised by the “Kicker”, “when he learned about it. When returning to the training ground on Säbener Straße after the trip, the excursion is said to have been an issue. FC Bayern now wanted to avoid all of this.
