The Cure published another track of your compilation Mixes of a Lost World, which will be published on June 13. On the record there are new versions of the Songs of a Lost World, highly acclaimed by critics.
After Four Tets Remix from “Alone” and Paul Oakenfolds Remix from “I Can Never Say Goodbye” have already been published, you can now hear what Deftones singer Chino Moreno has done with the rough “Warsong”.
Incidentally, it is not the first time that Moreno and The Cure work together: in 2023 Robert Smith was heard at “Girls Float † Boys Cry” by Moreno’s side project † to it.
The Cure and Dance Music
On Mixes of a Lost World you can also find new interpretations of Songs-of-A-Blost-A-World songs from Mogwai, Mura Masa and Orbital. The income that comes together with the publication of the project should be completely donated to “War Child UK”.
The idea for a remix album came up rather spontaneously than Robert Smith received several mix versions of the new songs around Christmas last year.
“The Cure have a long story with all types of dance music, and I was curious how the whole album would sound through others in the reinterpretation,” said the singer in a statement. “This curiosity led to a fabulous journey through all 8 songs by 24 wonderful artists and remixers and surpasses everything I could hope for.”
