New job for Arjen Robben: The former Bayern star will train the U14 of his youth club FC Groningen in the coming season. The Dutch first division team presented the 41-year-old as part of a new team of coaches in the various young teams.

“The fact that we were able to inspire Arjen Robben to become head coach of a team of our youth academy is of course very proud. Arjen’s experience does not require any further explanation, but he also left a strong impression from the start,” said Byron Bakker, head of football development at FC Groningen.

Robben had already taken on minor tasks on the FC Groningen campus in recent years and has also completed an internship as a trainer. Previously, after his career end, the Dutch trained his son Luka’s team at the Amateur Association Be Quick in Groningen. Robben played for FC Bayern from 2009 to 2019 and won the Champions League in addition to numerous championships and trophies during this time. Then he ended his big career at FC Groningen.
