The rebuilding of Digipoort, an important digital facility for safe message exchange between companies and the government, continues. State Secretary Zolt Szabó (digitization) writes this today in a letter to the House of Representatives. Extra measures are being taken to strengthen control of the program. Digipoort is crucial, for example, to be able to safely process tax returns and digital invoices.

Since 2021, the government has been working on a new version of Digipoort to arrive at a future -proof facility with legitimate contracts, lower management costs and less dependence on suppliers.

The ICT testing (ACICT) advisory college writes in an advisory report published today that the rebuilding is unnecessary complex, the manageability of the program is insufficient and the chance of further extension in time and money is high. ACICT recommends to stop the Digipoort program (temporarily) controlled to consider alternative routes (temporarily).

To research

The State Secretary has taken the advice of ACICT seriously. Extra studies have been done by independent agencies (KPMG and SIG). It has also been discussed with important parties involved such as the Tax Authorities and UWV. After careful assessment of costs, risks and the consequences of stilling, it was decided to continue the program in a controlled manner and take extra measures to better control. The cost investigation of KPMG shows that the new Digipoort is an affordable and cost -efficient replacement for the old Digipoort. The new Digipoort is technically well maintained and is flexible and scalable. This ensures lower management and operating costs and better services for companies.

Take

The State Secretary takes extra measures to better control costs and control. To limit risks, financial insight and management from the Ministry are further strengthened. A future plan is also being worked on for data exchange within the government. At the end of 2025, the Chamber will receive the current state of affairs about the progress of rebuilding of Digipoort at the end of 2025, unless there is more reason to inform.
