With summer temperatures approaching, the Experience Park in Dwingeloo opened the swimming pool today. Since the beginning of April, the park has been accessible to visitors who wanted to climb and clamber, but due to the cold weather the swimming pool has remained closed so far.
Now that the prospects are better, visitors can also swim again. It is the start of the swimming season.
The necessary preparations were made for the opening. “Together with a large group we cleaned the whole bath one evening, the fire brigade comes to help us with that every year,” says Karla Post from the board.
The park has its own source with which the swimming pool is filled. “That takes about four days,” Andrea de Groot explains. She is technical management, site and maintenance manager. The water is heated with a gas -fired boiler, from 8 degrees to now around 20 degrees. “That is still something on the cold side,” says De Groot, “but warm enough to swim.”
The park has made a few small adjustments this year. For example, they open the old kiosk this season so that visitors from behind the park do not have to walk all the way to the entrance. The water slide will also be renovated next week. “Hopefully that is only a week out of use,” says Post.
This year, the Experience Park also celebrates its 75th anniversary. On Saturday, July 21, this will be celebrated with a festive day full of activities. “We are really looking forward to it,” says Post. “It promises to be a beautiful day.”
