Hansi Flick celebrates, Antonio Rüdiger rages: FC Barcelona fetches the trophy in a memorable finale. The referee fears in the focus.
When Hansi Flick smiled at the award ceremony, Antonio Rüdiger was still raging in the player tunnel. Completely out of the edge and band, the international tried to get to the referee one last time – in vain.
Real Madrid employees pushed the “uncontrollable beast” (Marca) back into the cabin, finally the stage belonged to the celebrated flick and the FC Barcelona trophy hero.
The impulsive Rüdiger had recently caused the inglorious end of a furious final. In the added time of the extension, he threw an ice cream bag towards the referee at 2: 3 from the replacement bench.
Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, who had complained about the pressure exerted by Real before the game, showed Rüdiger Rot – who subsequently followed a bad curve (“Hursohn”, “Missgeburt”) in German.
DFB President Neuendorf does not comment
The German Football Association announced on Sunday on request that DFB President Bernd Neuendorf would not comment on the striker of the international. The Spanish press did so. “The German was completely angry, angry and out of control,” wrote the newspaper “Marca” on Sunday and called Rüdiger “Una Bestia Incontrolable”.
Jew Bellingham and Lucas Vázquez also flew off the pitch, Rüdiger is now even threatening the season. Four to twelve games are planned for “throwing an object”, which also apply to the league. Madrid is currently four points in the title race behind leader Barcelona, on May 11th there is another Clásico.
Flick celebrates the next title with Barca
Flick’s second title with Barca was almost in the background, and the Catalans had already won the final around the Supercup against Real. The 60-year-old proudly spoke of a “perfect evening” who wake up hope for the triple: on Wednesday Barca welcomes the Bayern cone Inter Milan to first leg in the Champions League. “Today we celebrate a great success that gives us confidence for more,” said Flick.
Until the cup victory, it was a hard piece of work in Seville. Pedri brought Barcelona the lead (28th), superstar Kylian Mbappé equalized (70th). In a wild final phase, thanks to Aurélien Tchouaméni, Real was even in front (77th), Ferran Torres (84th) brought Barca to the extension. There, defender Jules Koundé made everything clear (116th). “Flicks Barca has grown up and deserves the right to be a favorite for every title,” wrote the newspaper Sport.
Rüdiger’s freak determines the headlines
Rüdiger’s freak still determined the headlines, especially since the referee put it into the focus as feared. The Burgos Bengoetxea had sued the pressure exerted by real the pressure a day before the final. The royal had shown, among other things, false decisions of the referee against Real in their TV channel.
The Madrilenes also shot into the referee during the game, Bellingham raged in the player tunnel in the break – and was pointed out by Rüdiger with the sentence “You can hear you”. In the later curses, Rüdiger then forgot his own hint.
The final will undoubtedly be remembered. “Every foreigner who pursued the final and did not know the peculiarities of Spain must have been astonished,” wrote the “Marca”: “The ball rolled at almost one in the morning, Mbappé was substituted, the referee cried the day before and a team threatened to play. It was insane.”
