TOrino, 24 Apr. (askanews) – Dialogues, thin connections, relationship between modern and contemporary and with the territory: The Gam of Turin with the direction of Chiara Bertola has chosen to focus on resonancesprogramming that wind around some keywords that relate the exhibitions and collections. The same director presented us with the second resonance. “In the first resonance – he said to askanews – we had light, color, daily time and now we have the rhythm, the structure, the sign. But then the thing I like is that these themes resonate very well in the move of Fausto Melotti, I felt the need to re -propose it to the younger generations, that is, to propose the extraordinary work of such an important master of the sculpture of the twentieth century”.

The largest exhibition in programming at the GAM is in fact an anthological by Fausto Melotti entitled “Let me have fun!” which crosses the entire career of the artist from the very difficult beginnings until success. The exhibition is also a form of sculptural lightness theory and creative freedom, as well as an opportunity to bring attention to one of the great names of the twentieth century. But the GAM moves on several critical and temporal levels.

“The other thing-added the director-is instead to propose the work, which is the second important exhibition that is in the GAM now, which is dedicated to Alice Cattaneo, exhibitions of Mid-Career artists, important Italian artists who need, however, that of that momentum that only an institutional museum can give”.

And the rooms of the Turin Museum seem to welcome Alice Cattaneo’s installations and works and its exhibition “where the space calls the sign” naturally, as if they had always been there, but also remembering previous exhibitions, which, even only in terms of psychological sensations, really makes you think of the idea of resonance and a museum vision that remains in motion. “The museum I think it is really important – concluded Chiara Bertola – because it must give missions, that is, it must awaken masters, capital, important visions, which must not be missed. You have to go over again, you have to put the world back to the world, as Boetti said, you have to restore the great works to the great works to recur because young artists and generations must see them because they do not know them”.

The second resonance of the GAM is then completed by a sound intervention by Chiara Lee and Freddie Murphy and an exhibition on the films of Giosetta Fioroni.
