Paving high jump dominator Armand Duplantis celebrated his next victory at the start of the Diamond League, but did not crack the six-meter mark.

The Swede prevailed on Saturday in the Chinese Xiamen with skipped 5.92 m in front of the Greek Olympic stock Emmanouil Karalis and the Dutchman Menno Vloon (5.82 m each).

The Olympic champion had only improved his own world record at 6.27 m at the All Star Perche Vault in the French Vault Vault in the French Clermont-Ferrand. In Xiamen, Duplantis now failed with all three attempts at 6.01 m.

Warholm not to be beat

Meanwhile, the Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm set up a world best over the 300 m hurdles. The 29-year-old covered the non-Olympic distance in 33.05 seconds and improved his own record from 2021 by 21 hundredths. The Brazilian Matheus Lima (33.98 seconds) was second behind Warholm, Ken Toyoda from Japan took third place (34.22 seconds)
