Laren slowly fills up in the morning. The Piekjesmarkt is running at full speed at Plein 1945 and the Sint Jan music association has just finished playing. At that moment no fewer than ten beautifully decorated horses with sjazen and carriages drive onto the Brink. They are ready for the traditional ring stitches.

The intention is to stick the ring that hangs in the air from the rope with a big trot. Participants can also win prizes for this, both for their speed and for their decorated cars.

Look in the past

The ring stitch is a glimpse into the past of the Brinkdorp. Because where Laren normally carries the stamp ‘Kakdorp’, it was a farmer’s village in days gone by. And that is reflected in the horse and cars that drive over the Brink this morning.

But there is also the dragon with the own image. In the afternoon it will also be ring stitches with convertibles held, where only women are allowed to participate.
