After the disappearance of the Pope, last Monday, the president of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, had paid tribute to his life and inheritance. “Pope Francis was a lighthouse of hope for all humanity in these times of war and difficulty”, commented Ceferin. “A humanity that will now remain orphaned of that tireless and powerful voice that has always risen in defense of the poor, humble and vulnerable to ask for respect, welcome and equality and to implore a peace that has always seemed far away, but that the heart of the world has always hoped for”.
