Robert Klauß landed in Vienna via Leipzig and Nuremberg. But in the Austrian capital, his term ends after one and a half years.
Rapid Vienna has separated from coach Robert Klauss with immediate effect. In the past 17 games, the Viennese celebrated only four wins, most recently it set three competitive defeats in a row. Now Stefan Kulovits, previously assistant to the German trainer, takes command – five game days before the end of the season.
Klauss took over the office in November 2023 and was on the sidelines in a total of 67 competitive games. The Austrian Bundesliga club wants to decide on his successor in the first few weeks of the summer break.
Before his engagement in Vienna, Klauss worked at the second division club 1. FC Nürnberg from summer 2020 to October 2022. Previously, he worked in the youth area of RB Leipzig for eight years. Between 2018 and 2021 he also belonged to the coaching team of the Leipzig professionals – initially under Ralf Rangnick, later under Julian Nagelsmann.
