Since his fall in the classic Paris-Nizza, Jonas Vingegaard has not contested an official race. His team Visma-Lease A Bike has now published a comeback plan by the cycling superstar.

As stated in a message from Visma-Lease A Bike, Jonas Vingegaard carried out tests in the wind tunnel in Aalborg this week.

Next is a height training camp with the team in Sierra Nevada, Sierra Nevada.

Then Vingegaard will take part in the Du Dauphine criterion in early June. There he will meet his great competitor Tadej Pogacar.

Afterwards, the last height training camp is coming up in the French Alps before the Tour de France (05th to 27th June). The Tour de Romandie (April 29 to May 4th) is eliminated for Vingegaard.

Cycling superstar Jonas Vingegaard fell at the classic Paris-Nizza, whereupon he later had to cancel the tour early and even cancel the Catalonia tour.

The Dane not only carried away wounds, bruises on the hand and a bloody lip when he had fallen down on the fifth stage at Paris-Nizza. The two-time Tour-de-France winner also spoke to “BT” of a “concussion”, which he dealt with a longer break than originally hoped for.

Tour de France has “absolute priority”

Team boss Grischa Niermann had already spoken about a possible change from the Vingegaard Plan before the Tour de France at the beginning of April.

“We are now checking what is possible for him. It depends on when Jonas feels really fit again. And whether he can add an additional race into his program. But of course the preparation for the tour has been priority for us,” he said at “Wielerflits.nl”.

The German added: “If he participates in races, it usually means that he is also good enough to compete in this race for victory.”
