The FIA of the International Automobile Association has been approved by the GM Performance Power Units LLC’s official Formula 1 engine journalist since 2029, FIA says in his announcement.
The newcomer gets customers quickly. For the 2026 F1 series, the Cadillac will use the GM engine when this is completed and receives a competition permit at the end of the decade. Until then, the Cadillac F1 team uses Ferrari engines.
Fia chairman Mohammed Ben Sulayem praises the entry of GM in the bulletin.
– Their dedication to innovation, endurance and competition is completely in line with Fia Vision about the future of motor racing.
The chairman sees new stables and journalists as an important part of the expansion of formulas. He believes that this will be attracted to the King’s Class.
– Approval of GM Performance Power Units as an engine supplier from 2029 onwards will be an important step in the international expansion of Formula 1 and shows the increasing interest in world -class car manufacturers such as General Motors.
GM has already made the stroller spin so it will be ready for the realization of the season 2029. It is currently developing an F1 prototype engine, and the new engine development center will be opened in Charlotte in 2026.
