Miro Aaltonen and Niko mOjamäki left KHL

Strikers who won Olympic gold in Beijing Miro Aaltonen and Niko Ojamäki made the expected solution and terminated their contract with the KHL club HK Vitjaz. Vitjaz said about the Finnish duo’s solution on their website.

Ojamäki played 48 games in the regular season, captured 43 (29 + 14) power points and finished sixth on the points exchange. Ojamäki won the regular season goal after scoring four more goals than Dynamo Moscow Stanislav Galijev. Ojamäki’s 29 goals are also Vitjaz’s club record.

The season was the first in KHL for 26-year-old Ojamäki.

The 28-year-old Aaltonen collected 42 (10 + 32) power points in 44 games this season and was tenth on the points exchange.

Aaltonen played five seasons in KHL and represented Vitjaz in 2016–17 and 2018–20, St. Petersburg SKA in 2020–21 and Vitjaz in 2021–22.

In KHL’s 244 regular season match, Aaltonen scored 175 (69 + 106) power points.

As Iltalehti reported yesterday, the Canadian striker of the Moscow Dynamo Eric O’Dell has left the club permanently.

Dynamo head coach Alexei Kudashov said that also the Swedish Andre Petersson leaves Russia, although Dynamo has a second round of the playoffs ahead.
