Municipalities with large deficits on their budget for assistance and wage cost subsidy are given more compensation for this. This is stated in a amendment decision that State Secretary Nobel opens today for internet consultation.
These are municipalities that have to do with deficits of 5% or larger on their budget for several years. They have to compensate for a smaller part of the deficits themselves and receive extra compensation from the joint resources of municipalities. This reduces financial pressure for these municipalities.
For social assistance beneficiaries, nothing changes due to this amendment decision. This is only about the way in which municipalities receive their budget from the government.
Internet consultation
Interested parties can respond to the internet consultation until 20 May 2025. The aim is to have the amendment decision enter into force on January 1, 2026.
