Marina Hegering resigned from the national team last summer. Now she is also opening a new chapter in terms of club.

A well -known new addition for the Cologne women’s team: Marina Hegering changes from VfL Wolfsburg to the cathedral city. As the club announced, the 35-year-old signed a contract until June 30, 2027.

“I like the city scary, people are very special and the love of sport is noticeably great here,” said Hegering. “So to be here from summer is huge for me.”

The defender can look back on a successful career. In total, she played 42 A international matches for Germany. With the national team, she stood in the European Championship final in 2022 and secured the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. After the tournament, she returned from the selection.

Before her time in Wolfsburg, Hegering was under contract in Duisburg, Leverkusen, Essen and FC Bayern. With FC Bayern she became German champion in 2021 and also won the DFB Cup four times in her career.
