On the A16 and in the center of Tilburg there was a wild police pursuit on Monday evening. A 55-year-old man from Rijen was fleeing agents and racing through the streets. He drove through red and tore on cycle paths. Thanks to a bystander, he could be arrested half an hour later.

The man was sought because of a mistreatment of a woman. The police received a report on Sunday evening. Her home was destroyed and the woman had hit striking.

Neighborhood investigation did not bring the police to the man, but it was familiar with which car he had left. That car was spotted by ANPR cameras on the A16 on Monday evening around half past ten.

Pursuit
Several police cars from the national unit went after the man. When they came to him, they gave a follow -up sign, but he ignored that. The man left and the police started the chase.

The man was already driving dangerous on the highway. He took the exit and then drove Plankgas into the center of Tilburg. There he again drove through the streets at high speed, ignored red traffic lights and rode on cycle paths.

Bystander intervenes
After a while the car stopped in the Kruisstraat. The man got out and started running. On the Besterdplein, a bystander put out his leg, so that the man fell and the officers could hit him in the buoys. The man was taken to the police station.
