Its beginnings and ideals
There are moments in life where time stops running and begins to accompany. Stages in which the urgency no longer commands, and the search is transformed into a more serene choice: to be well, live better, share without hurry. In that spirit Colmena Space + Community was born, a real estate proposal that focuses on an audience often forgotten by the market: people over 50.
Colmena arises in Salta from the hand of two architects, Guillermo Gómez Bustillos and Mateo Lanusse, as a result of a deep concern: rethinking how this stage of life is inhabited, after seeing closely the little that the traditional market offers and what is disconnected that are usually the current proposals of what people really need people over 50. What began as a personal need, became a project with a project with collective impact. It was a reaction to models that many times isolate, childish or invisible, when in reality it is a stage of enormous potential.
A differential proposal
Far from impersonal structures or the classic closed neighborhoods without identity, Hive raises a warm, close and thought of empathy. The architectural design takes into account the true priorities of this vital moment: accessible, functional and aesthetically careful homes, combined with common spaces to share, find, be part. Because we know that the environment also builds well -being.
Currently, Colmena has three developments underway in the city of Salta, and projections to continue growing in the region. Each was designed from dialogue with real people: surveys, interviews, workshops, meetings. We believe that only this can be built something truly relevant: not assuming what the other needs, but asking and listening.
It is not just about offering square meters, but about building quality of life. That is why each hive project integrates community spaces such as quinchos, gardens, trails, multipurpose rooms or orchards, in which the interaction occurs naturally. It is not forced, it is not imposed: it is enabled.
The model combines architecture, community and support. The company is constituted as a simplified corporation (SAS), with registered trademark, its own accounting and legal equipment, and a clear commercial management structure. But the strongest differential is in the human: in the way we accompany each person interested from the first contact to the final delivery.
Each work begins when the initial group of future residents is confirmed. That allows the process to be agile, that the work is financially supported, and that people know exactly what stage they are. We bet to work with real times, possible deadlines and concrete commitments.
The trade of building becomes, thus, an job of listening. Of accompanying. To read what happens today and anticipate what is coming. Because more and more people over 50 are looking for alternatives to live this stage with autonomy, company and enjoyment. And because we know that many of those needs are not even verbalized, for fear or by habit.
New projects and challenges
Colmena aims to continue growing without losing that human look that differentiates it. Climb, yes, but while being close. Advance with new developments that continue to answer those new questions that appear. Incorporate technology that approaches, to give security and facilitate daily management. And continue building bridges for those who want to live this stage with fullness, but they still don’t know where to start.
In a context where medicine gives us more years of quality, and where the so -called “silver economy” raises new ways of living, Hive is positioned as a specific answer to a vital question: how do we want to live in the coming years of our life?
The answer, perhaps, is in those spaces where you can have coffee with someone, go for a garden, greet the neighbor by name. Where time does not leave, but stays. And where to live becomes, again, an choice.
