The 15-fold international was already under contract from 1860 from 2007 to January 2011. Then his career led him through Hoffenheim, Leverkusen and Monaco to Union Berlin. Volland has been under contract there since 2023.
For the lions, the return of the offensive player with Champions League experience is a signal. “Kevin will not only continue with his quality on the field, but will also be an important building block inside the team,” said sports manager Christian Werner.
At Union Berlin, Volland also played an important role in a difficult phase. His experience was “very valuable”, emphasized Union Managing Director Horst Heldt.
