Hertha BSC rewarded himself against Ulm for a significant increase in performance in the second half and won 3: 2 (0: 1). Ulm stands empty-handed despite a good appearance and half-time lead.

Aaron Keller (10th minute) brought Ulm in the lead early, Fabian Reese (46th and 50th) turned the game immediately after the restart before Ulms Daniel Dressel (56th) equalized shortly afterwards. Hertha’s substitute Florian Niederlechner (84th) provided the 2: 3 final score in the final phase.

Despite a strong appearance, Ulm missed to overtake Prussia Münster in 16th place and to move on to the relegation place. Hertha is almost safe to stay in the league four games before the end of the season.

Hertha wants to be certainty on Friday

“We have a home game in front of our chest on Friday, we want to make everything clear. And then we want to climb a bit in the table,” said Hertha’s coach Leitl after the final whistle on the sports show microphone.

Despite the difficult table constellation, Ulm’s coach Lechleiter wants to radiate calm before the end of the season: “I can hardly accuse my team of my team with anything except for the first seven minutes of the second half,” he told the sports show. “I will remain positive. We have the next chance against Fürth on Friday. I will now upset the boys and then focus on Friday.”

Hertha only wakes up after the break

In a competitive and overall balanced game, Aaron Keller took the lead for the hosts after just ten minutes. The 20-year-old completed a counterattack against wide-ranging Berliners. Of the guests who had recently caught themselves in a mixed season under the direction of coach Stefan Leitl, did not get enough before the change of sides. Michael Cuisance missed the best chance (31st).

After the restart, things went better. Reese achieved the equalization just 23 seconds after the change of sides and the lead in the 50th minute. He has now scored eight goals in the past six games – once again there were two extremely important ones.

A few moments before the 2-1, Linus Gechter had headed the crossbar. However, Ulm did not give up and was allowed to dream of at least one counter after a remarkable goal from Dennis Dressel. But Niederlechner had something against it (84.) and Ulm pushed deeper into the relegation shortage with his winning goal.
