Borussia Dortmund continues to take Europe: The Niko Kovac team beat Borussia Mönchengladbach and is close to Champions League & Co. The BVB won 3: 2 (3: 1) on Easter Sunday and was also able to win the eleventh home game in a row.
According to Ita-Lauka’s beautiful solo from the center line, in which the ex-Gladbacher Rany Bensebaini involuntarily gave the assist (24th), it rang three times shortly before the half-time whistle. First hit Serhou Guirassy (41.), then Felix Nmecha celebrated his goal (44th) and in added time Danuel Svensson overflowed BMG keeper Jonas Omlin (45.+5.). Kevin Stöger’s transformed penalty at the beginning of the second section of the game brought the Gladbachers hope again (56.). In the end, Dortmund collected three points.
BVB more determined, but too complicated
When the guests’ leading goal fell, Dortmund was the game -determining team. The foals from the Lower Rhine had never come to the attack zone. The BVB acted more purposefully, but stayed too complicated in the final situations. The defense against Borussen was far too undecided when the central defender goals.
Gladbach’s left defense is failed
After a right goal by Lukas Ullrich (39.), the left side of the Gladbach foals collapsed. First, Pascal large on the right, almost without resistance, and fit in a targeted manner to the penalty point. There Serhou Guirassy waited and converted flat by direct acceptance.

Carbey Chukwuemeka – for the injured Daniel Beier in the middle of the first half – danced three Gladbacher and served Guirassy, who once more moved into his parking space at the penalty point. Omlin parried the shot of the most dangerous Dortmund attacker, but against the praise header from Svensson, the keeper had no chance. Svensson celebrated his hit artistically with a seasoned forward salto.
Var intervention brings Gladbach again
The spectators adopted and welcomed the players of Borussia Mönchengladbach at the beginning and at the end of the break with whistle. In the playground, the guests unchanged a somewhat happy penalty: After a cross from Alassane Plea, it was gnawed between Gregor Kobel, Felix Nmecha and Tim Kleindienst: NMECHA came after the ball, but only scored the sole from small service. Referee Daniel Siebert was quoted from the Var to the control monitor and – apparently hesitantly – decided on a penalty by stadium. Stöger (shot at the bottom right of the goal) did not miss this chance.
Impartial causes smile
A praise of the impartial caused a smile when he announced: he described the Gladbach attacker as “player Kleinschmidt”.
As a result, Gladbach tried to equalize – but top -class opportunities could not be created. Instead, Julian Brandt left a top -class player in the final phase to finally close the famous lid on the game.
Gladbach loses soil in the fight for Europe
The Dortmund Borussia (now 7th place) collected three important points in the fight for a European starting place and can even have hopes for a start in the Champions League. This is also true for the Gladbach Borussia, which have now fallen back to ninth place behind black and yellow.
