Mannie had been staying in the Mondo Verde theme park in Landgraaf for some time. The six -year -old animal was once rejected by his father, so that he lived in seclusion for a number of years. His father and mother stayed in a separate stay.

De Leeuw now has a new home. Mannie was transferred to The Lions Foundation in South Africa on April 17. This reception center of Stichting Leeuw is located in the leafy Private Nature Reserve in Bela-Bela. There he gets plenty of space: more than 1.5 hectares of Savanneland to enjoy.

A long journey

The trip to South Africa was long, but went well for the animal. Under the guidance of Stichting Leeuw, Mannie was first brought to Zoeologistics at Schiphol. There he left with a KLM plane to Johannesburg.

After a ride of 2.5 hours he arrived in the reception center. The team of The Lions Foundation was ready to receive him. Mannie is doing well, says the foundation.
