Thanks to an eclatant 0-4 victory over FC Eindhoven and a defeat of FC Emmen, Telstar has the coveted seventh place again. After tonight, the play-offs for Telstar are even more. Captain Mitch Apau saw that he and his teammates seem to peak at the right time in the season. “This almost feels like a perfect competition,” said APAU.
Telstar’s captain is busy at his last weeks At the club and leaves for the amateurs of Spakenburg. The play-offs would therefore mean a special dessert of his professional career for the 34-year-old defender. “I am not at all concerned with my farewell. I don’t experience it that way. I really want to get something and that is of course the play-offs. Telstar comes to one and the rest will come naturally,” says Apau.
The game against FC Eindhoven also felt like an almost perfect match for APAU. APAU: “We played really well. We score early and soon kill the game. We have actually defended well all year round. Today we also just score easier and then the game will of course be easier for everyone.”

Telstar trainer Correia fully enjoyed his team. “I think we were very dominant in the first half. I really enjoyed it. The first half was really great. It was very good today. I am very satisfied today.”
Denouement
Telstar is now in seventh place in the first division. This position gives the right to participate in the play-offs. Telstar will play at home against Top Oss next Friday. This is followed by another away match against De Graafschap. The regular competition is concluded with a home game against the direct competitor FC Emmen.
