The comeback concert by Gil Ofarim can hardly be described as a big restart or triumphal return. On April 17, 2025, the musician, who had fallen out of favor because of the “Davidstern” affair, returned with a concert in the Bochum Club Matrix after several years. The concert was far from sold out, around 200 people are said to have been on site.

In November 2023, the main hearing against Gil Ofarim took place before the Leipzig district court in the “Davidstern affair” (all information here). On the sixth day of the trial, Ofarim admitted to inventing the accusations. He apologized to the hotel employee who accepted the apology. The procedure was set on the condition that Ofarim pays 5,000 euros to the Jewish community in Leipzig and to the memorial and educational institution- House of the Wannsee conference. He was also obliged to make compensation for the accused hotel employee.
