No German team made it into the semi -finals in international competitions. This case has rarely existed in recent years.

In Europe’s top competitions it goes into the hot phase-without German clubs. For the first time in four years, there are no teams from the Bundesliga in the semi -finals of the European Cup competitions.

It is rare that no Bundesliga club is among the top four teams in Europe. Before the 2020/21 season, this was last the case in the 2016/17 and 2004/05 seasons. This season, eight German teams had also mixed in European competitions – five of them in the Champions League.

In the Europa League, TSG Hoffenheim said goodbye to the league. Heidenheim had to delete the sail in the Conference League in the play-offs for the round of 16.
