Posti sent a bulletin to the users of its electronic consumer services during the Easter week, which announced the effects of data protection changes that came into force on 20 May.

The bulletin states that the Post will also use its customer information to target advertising to its users in the future.

– Based on your information, we analyze which services and content could be useful for you. Information on the transmissions to be monitored will also be used for this purpose.

In addition, the Posti collects information on the shipping and delivery of the broadcasts to be carried as follows:

  • the name and contact details of the sender and the recipient
  • the unique identifier of the shipment
  • Content and customs data of shipping
  • Information on the number and delivery of shipping.

Changes do not require any action from users, except if you do not want to use your information to target advertising.

To set a ban by going to the mail site, logging in to your own user account and selecting Settings> Customer Settings> Profiling and by removing the check from the screen My information may be used to design and develop services and to target personalized content and advertising using profiling.

The prohibition only affects the user’s targeted ads, which in the data collected by the mail. It does not prevent the user from seeing ads.
