In the publication year of her debut EP Abstract Thoughts (2018), Bristol bandmates Idles made the Heavy-Bung singer Danny Nedelko from Ukraine the title hero of her then Pro Immigrantensingle. In all ideological and geographical similarities, heavy lungs are musically musically on their second long player, but no decal of their now even noticeably more famous supporters. For this, Nedelko barks and increases too often (and good) into original Johnny-Rotten-Rage and is rooted in the noise (post) punk rock of the quartet in the high-tilty and dirty reef scramble of the British late-pastor reality.
Which does not mean that you cannot treat yourself to extras such as sympathy for the US hardcore of the early eighties, outsider instruments such as a Theremin or the ninety-nine-native Ministry-Manson Industrial Excursus “Into the Fire”. In terms of content, the outbreak of outbreak also dominates: be it the beach flight of “Get Out”, Willem Dafoe and the Chateau Marmont La plans or the boredom-motivated celebrity wish of the “Mr. Famous”, which is lamenting in speech singing, in which the protagonist demands a more modern and advanced version of the TV series “Enourage”.
And the kitchen aid experiences by Nedelko and bassist James Minchall, which is autobiographically reprocessed in the opener “Yes Chef”, culminate in “Life’s A Bufet” as band motto and career outlook: “Take what you want / have what you need.”
