Ski alpine talent Lara Colturi could ensure a winter sportsquake during the summer break with a new association change.
In 2022, Lara Colturi put Italian skiing into a shock state. The daughter of the Italian Olympic champion Daniela Ceccarelli and the ski alpine runner Alessandro Colturi decided to move to the Albanian winter sports association.
Colturi was to be built by her parents in the so -called Golden Team Ceccarelli Coe into a superstar of the scene. In the Albanian team, she should get a lot of freedom for this. In Italy, this would only have been a limited extent due to clearer structures and great competition.
But now there is apparently a spectacular U -turn.
As several Albanian media report, Colturi plans a return to the Italian association. Accordingly, the 18-year-old has already made an application for the change. So far, however, it has not received any approval from the Albanian association.
If Colturi does not get the green light, but Albania still turn their backs, the youngster would have to take a one -year break. During this period, she should not take part in World Cup races or the Olympic Games.
Colturi thinking about lack of money and prestige?
A final decision will soon be pending. Until May 1st, nation change must be submitted to the International Ski Association.
The portal “Sportnews.BZ” already speculates about possible reasons for Colturi’s rethinking. Lack of money in the Albanian association and a lack of prestige could have been the trigger.
In Italy, Colturi would certainly be welcomed. The 18-year-old is considered one of the greatest talents in alpine skiing. Colturi drove to the World Cuppodest three times last winter.
