To his upcoming farewell, Straus said: “My biggest goal was to leave FC Bayern women’s team in a better position at the end of my time.” He succeeded. Nevertheless, he also showed sentimental. “I knew that it would be hard if I would say goodbye from the club, which has become such a large part of my life.” He was extremely grateful and “I enjoyed any moment when I was able to serve this club, the players, the team behind the team and of course the fans”.
The association also expressed gratitude in the person of sports director Max Eberl and women’s football director Bianca Rech. “FC Bayern women have been continuously developing at the highest level for many years-and Alexander Straus has made an invaluable share,” emphasized Eberl, who also emphasized that the 49-year-old football teacher could still succeed. “We lifted women’s football at FC Bayern together on the next stage,” said Rech. “That was always Alex ‘big goal, and we achieved that together. We stay deeply connected and wish him every success for his future tasks.”
Anyone who becomes a straus’ successor has not yet been determined. The club will “inform about this in due course”.
