Our gym is open until ten in the evening to provide children with guided sports activities.” The link with the King’s Games was therefore quickly made for the director.

“The children are crazy.”

He finds a great honor that Kamal can receive the royal couple, but especially for the students and parents, he really likes it. “The children were crazy when the news became known.”

The 11-year-old Amira is looking forward to the special visit. “You don’t experience this every day, so I really like it, “she tells Zuidwest TV. The 8-year-old Teun from group four also thinks it is great that the King’s Games will take place at his school. “I like it, but exciting. It is the first time I will see them,” he says.

“I heard that the king is sporty.”

Especially at the sports and games, the children and director look great. Kamal is curious if the king himself will also play. “I heard that he is very sporty, so it would be nice.”

Also for the Kalsdonk district, where the childcare center is, it is a huge boost. The quality of life in the post -war neighborhood has been under pressure for years. The neighborhood is struggling with problems such as poverty, crime and poor health. “It gives the neighborhood a nice boost and we can now put our school on the map.”
