The German Darts professional Dominik Grüllich caused a fist-thick surprise on Tuesday at the 14th Players Championship tournament of the year in Rosmalen in Dutch.
Dominik Greisschich initially prevailed against Ryan Meikle (6: 5), Alexander Merkx (6: 4), Daryl Gurney (6: 2), Maik Kuiveenhoven (6: 4), Dirk van Duijvenbode (6: 5) and Michael Smith (7: 4).
In the final, the German darts surprise then met the experienced Jonny Clayton. The Premier League champion from 2021 shone with an average of 109.68-Guild (92.24 points per recording) ultimately lost 2: 8. However, reaching the final is still a huge success.
