Aktia Bank will have a over four-day service break at several services at Easter. IT Oskari Kurki says he understands that from the customer’s point of view, the break feels long.

Maintenance work has been scheduled for the Easter holidays so that the interruption of banking services will cause as little harm to customers. Typically, weekdays are more lively in banking.

The break begins on Thursday 17.4. at 8 pm and ends on Tuesday 22.4. at 6 o’clock. Due to Easter, both Friday and Monday are public holidays.

A four -day service break is not quite unheard of the banking industry, but yes, such situations are very rare. Even a career of less than 30 years is an exceptional situation.

– There are technical reasons why the break cannot be treated any faster. We have an accurate work plan for the interruption of how time is intended to be used, Kurki says.

More specifically, Kurki cannot comment on what to do during the break. The aim is to ensure the reliability of services in the future and to develop digital services. However, the update is not related to cyber security or recent security attacks on recent banks.

– In banking, everything is based on a good level of reliability of services. This is being developed here.

Kurki himself is working during the holiday due to a service break, as well as a significant number of experts. Work is done alternately with people involved.

– We strive to prepare for all possible emergencies. Some are just back and backup.

Aktia’s Communications Director Mia Smeds says that information began three weeks before the disruption.

A letter has been sent to customers. In addition, the interruption has been reminded of customers in Aktia’s online banking and all services. Information can also be found on some updates and on the company’s website. Customers were still sent a text message reminder.
