Hasan Ismaik has been the shareholder of the “Löwen” for almost a decades and a half. This era should now end. Ismaik itself explains why – and provides a condition.

The controversial investor Hasan Ismaik surprisingly wants to sell his shares in TSV 1860 Munich. “I think someone needs new things in 1860 – you don’t need Hasan. If I stay, this club will stay as it is,” said Ismaik at the “ARD/Blickpunkt Sport”. However, participation in the third division team would have their price: “Anyone who thinks they have the ability to buy in 1860 – my door is open. But if he does not have 200 to 300 million, it won’t work for him.”

Ismaik has been an investor and shareholder of the football tradition club for 14 years, and since then a power struggle between the presidium and the investor side around the businessman from Jordan has been almost permanently.

In the meantime, the 47-year-old admitted his own mistake, above all he did not really have the exact circumstances of his entry into view: “I blame myself that before I bought I didn’t understand correctly in 1860-the culture, the history of the club, the 50+1 rule. That people want something else here-I should have recognized that beforehand.”

Ismaik had saved the club in 2011 from bankruptcy and since then tried with high investments to bring it back into the road to success. However, conflicts have always occurred between the investor and the association. “I have been suffering from these people for 14 years,” complained Ismaik: “There is no appreciation, no respect. Nothing.”

Now he wanted to sell the club and be “just a fan of 1860”. He prays for the TSV to play in the Bundesliga. “This is my dream – and I hope that this dream will come true before I die: a derby in Munich between Bavaria and 1860 in the first Bundesliga.”

In 2017, the “lions” were passed directly into the regional league after the sporting descent from the 2nd Bundesliga. At that time, Ismaik had refused a new money injection for the club, in 1860 no license received a license for the 3rd division.
