“There are still several emergency services on the spot,” says a spokesperson for the Security Region at 7.40 am. “The gas and the electricity are still closed. Various homes have been evacuated and it is now being looked at when everyone can go home. The fire brigade takes measurements for this and looks at whether there is damage to the roof.” The residents were taken care of in the Bosman care home.
The fire broke out around 4.50 am and the flames struck out of the house. An hour later the fire was under control. The two residents of the apartment where the fire broke out were taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, the spokesperson said. It is still unclear how the fire could have arisen.
